Four capitals in four nights.

Four capitals in four nights.

It has become an annual tradition: a short, sharp trip to see how the ‘Exponential Age’ is showing up on the ground.

Last year the Baltics, this year the Balkans.

The Exponential Age, as coined by Azeem Azhar, describes the moment we live in, where technologies accelerate faster than our institutions and imaginations can catch up.

Each stop on this circuit offers a different lens:

• 🇦🇱 Tirana, Albania: leapfrogging legacy systems, moving straight to mobile payments and renewables • 🇽🇰 Pristina, Kosovo: Europe’s youngest population, working globally through its diaspora • 🇲🇰 Skopje, North Macedonia: where the market built a tech hub while the government spent half a billion Euros on statues • 🇧🇬 Sofia, Bulgaria: blockchain and fintech clustering on Europe’s eastern frontier

I’ll be sharing short notes from each city -if anyone knows these places, I’d love to hear about it here or in DMs.
